Follow Karakoram Plus Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja praised Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, referring to them as “the superstars of Pakistan cricket” due to their ability to draw in crowds. Over the past few years, both players have been consistent performers for Pakistan across all three formats. During Pakistan’s recent three-match ODI series against New Zealand, Rizwan captained the team and scored 72 runs at an average of 24. Babar Azam, on the other hand, contributed 129 runs, including two fifties, averaging 43. Following the New Zealand tour, Rizwan led the Multan Sultans in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), scoring 367 runs in 10 matches. His performance included a century and a fifty, with an average of 52.42 and a strike-rate of 139.54. Meanwhile, Babar Azam captained the Peshawar Zalmi and made 288 runs in 10 games, which included three fifties. He averaged 36 with a strike-rate of 128.57. Ramiz Raja, highlighting their importance to Pakistan cricket, said that both Babar and Rizwan have a magnetic presence that brings fans to the stadiums. Despite their status and form, neither Babar nor Rizwan were included in the squad for the T20I series against Bangladesh that followed the PSL.
